Itunes Library

My iTunes Library shows the same album 4 times, each with different songs. How do I put all songs into one album, and delete the duplicates.
So far, I’ve tried dragging and dropping from album to album, and creating a playlist and dragging to one album. Neither of which have worked.

to delete, can you right-click and delete?

Put all the relevant tunes into a playlist, the select them all and do a Get Info on them and alter the mp3 information to make them all the same album, part of a compliation etc.
