How would you describe it, viv? Wholesome family entertainment? What do you think the motive and enjoyment is in watching it? A noble interest in the human condition ? Or watching other humans being mocked for their deficiencies? What?
I used to watch it in a strange fascinated horror, but I've got a bit bored with it as it's all the same issues, just with different folk. I am worried about the lie detector tests they run. They 100% believe the results when they are not 100% effective. So some poor bugger is getting hung for something they didn't do and some smarmy git is getting away with their sins.
I prefer The Real Housewives of New York/Orange County etc. My guilty pleasure when the kids are napping or at nursery.
I don't know how I'd describe it Fred, but to say it's like bear baiting is ridiculous in the extreme. Pure physical cruelty is bear baiting (still practised in certain primitive parts of the world) and not to be compared to a verbal bashing from Kyle!
Joggerjane...If, like me, you don't switch it on in the first place, switching it off or not doesn't really come into the equation. My post of 09:30 this morning still stands...switch off the telly and do something interesting.
