Thinking of going to Sharm in Feb for a warm up. Never been before but it seems that Naama bay in the main area is easy access into the sea via a sandy beach!! The other areas appear to be accesed by platform over Coral?? Am I correct anyone? My wife and I love to snorkel but also like to just wander into the sea for a cool off every now and then!! Any info on Hotels in this area would also be of great help. Thanks in advance.
the government relaxed its travel advisory against going to Egypt today. All the same I think I'd monitor the political situation closely for a little while before booking. (Sharm hasn't been at any great risk, but who knows.)
Sharm has been built especially for tourism so I imagine you'll be pretty safe. There are hotels to suit every budget - best to google and have a look. Wherever you stay, DO take shoes to wander into the sea with - dead coral abounds - but the walk is well worth it. Glorious living 'Disneyland' in a vast crystal clear ocean!! (Be warned - the sea is not warm like the Caribbean, so if you're snorkeling or diving a wetsuit is a very good idea).
Went to sharm in february a few years ago , weather was warm during the day but very chilly in the evening . Most of the beaches are man made , you don,t get the long sandy beaches to stroll along .
