I was made redundant 3 months short of my 65th birthday. Thrown on the scrapheap. But i didn't want to retire, so I started applying for jobs thinking I would have no chance. But, 2 months after my 65th birthday, I was successful and was taken on permanent staff by a local company. I am so proud of this as this area is supposed to be the 2nd most difficult place in the UK to find work. According to figures released earlier this year, there are 28 people seeking every vacancy in this area, but I did it. So, don't give up. Have belief in yourself and keep going. You never know!
Mr Alba's step-uncle has had 2 replacements, same hip, 2nd one made a hoooooge difference to his quality of life.
(say nowt, went for an interview on Thursday, hope to hear back this coming week for the 2nd interview)
When they ask why you want to work for this company, I keep biting my tongue,
I so want to say 'I need the money!'
So pleased for you. It just shows that jobs are available, if you try hard enough. I wish some of our stay-at-home citizens where as resourceful as you !
