help ! we have 2 laptops, both connected wirelessly to the internet using cards. until recently. .. one of them now is causing major headaches. when i try to go on the net it tries to connect but will not let us connect to the web pages. it has occasionally opened the home page, but took ages then went no further. i am reliably informed that the PCMCIA card is connected to the router (?). we have swapped the cards over and the other laptop works fine with both. it has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times and re-booted and all firewalls removed. any ideas from you computer genii out there ?? i am a deperate woman now.

You will find it in Start - All Programs - Accessories - Communications. Ensure that you choose the options that allow you to connect directly to the internet and NOT share an internet connection.

Try changing your connection settings so that your internet connection is found automatically for you. If you use internet explorer then open it up then go Tools, Internet Options. A nee window will open click on the connections tab then the button saying LAN settings then tick the box which says automatically detect settings de-select all others, then click ok the apply. This worked for me.
