i just make a sponge mix and pour into a dish, then the children throw in some apple chunks they've cut up. it's dead easy and really nice.

i made a toffee apple crumble today which went down well

boil a tin of condensed milk for 2 hours (unopened tin covered with boiling water left to simmer - make sure tin is covered with water all the time, leave to cool for an hour and open very carefully)

pour over a biscuit base (crushed digestives and melted butter) topped with sliced apples (you can stew them a bit if you want them softer)

top this with a crumble mixture (i add oats to my crumble for texture) and bake for half an hour-ish!

sorry for not having any quantities but i made it up as i went along! when it came out of the oven it was like a pudding, but when it cooled - it set like a slice!
