one of the accused over Lee Rigby's murder has described himself as a Soldier of Allah, if so are there more who will follow his example and see this as a war with the west. The family of Lee Rigby must be devastated

It would be unwise of us not to believe that there are more self-styled 'Soldiers Of Allah', emmie. Whether or not they would be prepared to carry out any such atrocities is for time to tell. What has probably happened is that all servicemen and women will have been put on full alert immediately following Lee Rigby's death, even when at home on leave. Which is, of...

////Choudary has recently been moved into hiding by police amid fears for his safety and is said to be under investigation by MI5 for his links with the two suspects.////
That is from the link Naomi posted. Most probably he is being given new instructions or may be a face would be changed and someone else would replace him in the near future because it is a bit too open now that he is being hated among the mainstream Muslim population on this country apart from about 17 to 18 people who are his followers and majority of whom are in the prisons, at last.
Remember my words now that another name and another person would take over his role in the near future.

Boxy, if I were to base my opinions of Islam on my experience of my Muslim friends it would be very easy to believe that all Muslims think as they do – but they don’t. You deny reality.
Keyplus, Choudary is not in danger from Muslims in this country, his followers are not restricted to 17 or 18, and he’s not in the employ of western agencies – which is what you are again implying. You may think you’re pulling the wool over people’s eyes but it doesn’t wash. You’ve made your feelings crystal clear. If you're a 'moderate' saints preserve us from the radicals!

Recently I have stopped posting on the threads like these as to my own knowledge these arguments, debates etc do not solve anything just as the leaders of the world are not solving anything. It is easy to say Muslims are terrorists. Because recently that has been the most listened music tune in the media not only in the West but all over the world.
Problem is that still no one seems to be bothered that why they are doing it? Because in my mind few people (and countries) are still trying to benefit out of this and do not give a damn about peace in the world. They attacked Somalia and Somalis came to this country, they attacked Afghanistan and Iraq and Afghans and Iraqis came here. People talk about Islamic terrorism but anyone with a little bit common sense can understand that apart from few handful incidents Islamic terrorism was not known to the world or at least Western world before 9/11. Why? What happened that changed it? Why all of a sudden people are so much willing to kill or get killed? Have they had enough of double standards? Are few people using few others for their own interests? Was attack on Iraq and Afghanistan justified where hundreds of thousands have been killed as a revenge for about 4000 people? Finally are we still trying to sort out the reasons behind all this or just playing point scoring games?
I will finish with something I have said here so many times. Control American dreams of ruling the world and control CIA & CO and you will see peace in the world. However I believe it is not the job for the people anymore but God will change it. America, just like Russia is on the brink of collapse internally and externally. But I do have one worry and very serious worry. Russians accepted the defeat but Americans never do that without emptying their loads on more innocent people and they are the only nation who already used nuclear weapons once so why not again?

Islamic terrorism has existed for centuries. The 20th century saw the rise of the Moslem Brotherhood as early as 1928, when Hassan al-Banna, a 22-year-old school teacher founded the movement to foment discontent.
"in...1929, a Mufti-led pogrom killed 133 autochthonous Jews in Jerusalem and Hebron. Shortly thereafter, the Mufti declared the relentless fight against the Jews as the most important responsibility of all believers. Those who dared to resist his anti-Jewish orders were publicly denounced and publicly threatened in the mosques during Friday prayers." (Islamic Antisemitism and its Nazi Roots - Matthias Küntzel)
In other words 'Good' Moslems have a duty to pursue jihad. How is it possible to move forward when godliness is confused with murder?

keyplus,
are you seriously suggesting that because we attack Somalia, they want to come here, do you really believe that, besides what in the grand scheme of things does Somalia and it's dirt poor people have to offer us,
sorry to be blunt, but the answer wouldn't be a lot, but because of our lax borders, and increasingly out of touch politicians, they have come as have Afghanis, Pakistanis and more besides and as we see with other threads so do many, often illegally, waiting at French borders to jump a lorry to get in, and once in seemingly hard to get rid of. I have seen our borough, area turned into a dumping ground for many Somalis, Afghani refugees, asylum seekers, who need help, money, and a place to stay, should we keep on accommodating the worlds poor, all the while British people are struggling to make ends meet, those who work and contribute.
As to Choudary, he doesn't have just a few followers, naive comments like this make me wonder what country you live in, eyes, ears closed. You may think that another will take his place if he goes, you are right, and more and more, this is not a problem that is going to go away. Moderates may baulk at the fanatics, converts in our midst, but quite frankly that won't stop the hatred, and even if we never entered the places you mention, that won't stop the bloodshed. Muslims kill other Muslims, there is no way you can deny it, just read the papers, watch the news, and look for yourself.

If anyone had asked me, 10 or 15 years ago, what I thought about bringing back the death penalty, my short answer would have been "no".
If asked to expand on that stance, I would have raised all the examples of miscarriages of justice we were all familiar with (UK, USA or whatever media bias fed to us, at the time).
If pushed for exceptions to the rule, I would have cited the rather far-fetched circumstances of a person (or persons) killed in cold blood in a public place, in front of multiple eye witnesses; no attempt to flee the scene; no attempt to conceal the body, no room for doubt about who the perpetrator was.
The bit about the perpetrator loudly announcing to all who cared to listen why he did what he'd just done was completely beyond my feeble imagination. Other than that detail, this case fits all my previous criteria.
However, given that martydom turned out to be one of their ancilliary goals, I have to reverse my stance.

exactly what i said earlier, he hoped to be shot dead by the police, so another martyr to the cause, as to the other bloke who knows what he wanted, just another dead soldier i expect. Hanging won't be brought back, and you said there were too many miscarriages of justice, and i am not one for revenge, tit for tat, but life in prison no parole would be right in my opinion
