I always look to the bookies to see what the xmas number 1 might be. Lily Allen is 6/1 in some places but as high as 50/1 in others. Looking at the prices - and the bookies are very rarely wrong in these matters, Kathyan - the BEST price you can get for Sam Bailey is 1/5 which is the same price she was to win X Factor. She is an even hotter favourite @ 1/10 in some places.

I'm not betting on anything, it's just that the last two or three Christmases (that doesn't look right!) there's been a campaign of sorts to keep x factor off the number one spot. I just wondered is there was one this year!

There's also a charity song I think using a song from Oliver which has some support but I can't see it selling anywhere near enough

I wasn't suggesting you have a bet, Kathyan, but if you want an idea of what the Christmas number 1 will be, the betting odds are the best guide there is. Obviously if there are campaigns that gather momentum, the betting will reflect that.
