What's on the menu?

I'm doing breads, cheeses, charcuterie, patés and pork pies served with bubbles, Zinfandel, Petis Chablis, port and Baileys.

We don't usually host but decided we would this year with the absolute proviso that it must be casual, hence the pot of chilli and easy peripherals.

Aldi do (or did) a very nice Cremant de Limoux 237, but I bring all mine back from France where it is a third of the price.
Incidentally Cremant de Limoux was the original fizz, Champagne then started producing it and sort of cornered the market.

Not hosting, did that last week. Tonight it's a drink with the neighbours, then lamb chops, bottle of Rioja, a single malt (or several) and then bed. I shall not see in the New Year; there have been too many of them!

We're having Coconut Chilli prawns.Beef Stroganoff,rice,asparagus and tenderstem broccoli,Lemon meringue pie,clotted cream,cheese board all made from scratch and washed down with a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape(a Christmas present from our daughters boyfriend)(creep).Just having a G&T in preparation.
