Years ago, I caught a wolfhound tiptoeing out of the house while carrying a plate with a cake on it. An early lesson in a) that wolfs can reach things very easily and b) they have extraordinarily soft and precise mouths; this one had taken the edge of the plate and eased it across the frig' top until she could get a proper grip and carry the plate like some Savoy waiter.

Just to be clear. Current knowledge says that turkey skin ISN'T toxic to dogs or foxes. the issue with turkey skin is the amount of it that there is and the amount of fat that it can contain if its not well cooked. The issue is the fat and its the same for beef, pork chicken lamb, cheese and so on. The pancreatitis appears to caused by the dog's inability to digest more than a certain amount of fat in one go.
There also seems to be both a breed disposition and a familial disposition both within at risk breeds and outside of them.
the christmas advice (or any other time of year) should be to be careful about the total amount of fat that a dog is fed and not the avoidance of any one kind.

I didn't know about the turkey skin Lankeela but Mr Tiggs has found out the hard way about raisins. His mum has a year old toy poodle and by accident ate a raisin which fell on the floor. The poor thing has been shaking and having epileptic fits since last Thursday but is now stable and responding to drugs.
My dog gets presents, we don't wrap them and he gets them before we open ours, due to the fact he turns into a quivering wreck as soon as we start to unwrap presents, he hates christmas, all the noise and extra people coming round and as for crackers, not good. He spent most of the day in the utility room, curled round the Hoover and everyone's jackets.
Poor wee man, didn't eat his dinner till 9.00. This year has been the worst for him, will have to get him something next year to help him. Thundershirt was no use.
