Mondeo 1.8 Zetec Estate Transmission Noise.
5 Answers
My car has 46000 on the clock. It makes a terrible clunk when starting up. Noisey on acceleration and decelleration..metalic clunk again. Continuous noise on overrun. Noise( Rattling) low down at back of engine below exhaust manifold. Burnt out clutch replaced at 45000. The Ford garage has checked in the gearbox..ordered a new fly wheel and then decided nothing wrong with the one its got. They now think it may be the starter motor. This started before Christmas. Can anyone Help please?

If you've had a clutch fitted they would probably have disturbed the exhaust anyway and now it's had time to work free if it wasn't tighten properly.
