Spent ages deleting almost 800 emails from answer bank.
What do I have to do to stop them being sent please.

ferlew, if you still can't resolve it, you need to email the Ed - use the Contact us button at the bottom of the page, or post in Ed's blog - he's more likely to see it there. I must admit I delete all my subscription notifications as soon as I've read them.

I don't know if this is legal- but could you reregister with a throwaway email address? I did that by coincidence and don't get anything in my emails from AB.

It shouldn't take you ages to delete 800 emails from the same sender.
Open you emal and put 'answerbank' in the search box. When all the emails have loaded click 'select all' and 'delete'.

Should take under a minute.
