Best BMW for �7k

I have �7,000 and I would like to purchase a nice BMW which model should I get I want a diesel. I have heard many options from my friends now want to hear from you guys.

Deisel every time for performance, economy and reliability but like the petrol it still has electronics which are the only thing likely to stop a modern deisel.

A quick browse on www.autotrader.co.uk shows a choice of 320 / 525 / 530 all around year 2000. I would definitely go for the 320 turbo diesel, it looks much nicer, will be more economical, cheaper to insure and will have better parts availability due to being the more popular model.
