Never Been So Amused

I have just spent the last half hour watching a man wrestle with his car boot. He tried slamming it shut, moved the contents around, even a hammer but no matter how hard it still wouldn't shut.

This was followed by more slamming and the car alarm ringing constantly until he gave up and came back and taped it shut with Sellotape. I have just manage to stop giggling.

im guessing the boot catch is damaged, how he thought a hammer would help is a bit odd, was he trying to hammer it shut??

yes, what use would a hammer be?
other than to dent it, break the glass or chip the paint off ...

if he couldnt do it with his hands and body weight, he'd have needed a huge lump hammer to have any effect on it at all

so what exactly did he do with the hammer?

Yes....my window cleaner washing my windows in pouring rain and high winds. They will be getting an extra rinse......

I think he was trying to sort the catch with it Caz but I had visions of it going through the back window

what idiot would use a hammer to close the boot..
Possibly he was using it to try to free the latching mechanism, some chaps know about stuff like that.. and changing wheels too.

nope, you would still use a screwdriver, you put the screwdriver through the hook, turn or press the button that releases the boot, pull the screwdriver sidewards so it releases the catch.

been there, done it.
