How Do You Install Magnetic Door Catches To Kitchen Cupboards?
7 Answers
The thing that has me stumped is lining the metal strip up with where the magnet unit is positioned. Is it just careful measuring? Thanks.

I would have thought you would put one half of the catch on, perhaps on the base or wall unit, where you want it (use a ruler if need be). Then you can swing the door towards it and make a pencil mark where the other half of the latch should be. Being magnetic it would probably work if close enough although for aesthetics a little care should get it marked just right.

if no spike then use a bit of double side tape or a blob of soemthing ike silicone sealer. Put the two bits of the magnet together then put the tape or the silicone on the back of the magnet.Close the door formly then open if and the magnet should either be stuck in the right place ready for permanent fastening or there will be a silicone mark left. Line the silicone mark up with the blob on the back of the magnet and mark the screw holes.
