Quite enjoy this programme but last nights was really annoying. The 'subject' was 'seasonal produce', so far so interesting. The guest chef Tony Singh proceeded to prepare venison, seasonal perhaps but hardly cheap. The drink chosen to go with the meal ? Whisky, three choices at £25, £34 and £45 a bottle.
Nice to see that the BBC have things in perspective!!

Yes I agree, I was puzzled
True, but you wouldn't expect to drink a full bottle of whisky between two with one meal, would you? And there was Haggis involved with the dish as well. You would most certainly expect to drink whisky with that.

Take your point, but still feel the programme is getting far too out of the ordinary persons reach. There are better things to spend money on than expensive spirits (my opinion naturally) and the presenters seem to imagine that wine is on everyone's table. Sure its popular but not universally so. The plum tart looked very good though.
