Looking for something new to do - usually do the same old same old (nothing fancy cake wise though - I don't do arty!).

I went to a do once where they had mini burgers and mini fish and chips, it was an adult thing but such a nice idea and sounds like it might go down well with the kids?

When I used to do children's parties when I worked at a fast food place I found squirty tomato ketchup was great to have around as they could draw stuff with it and make patterns and such like on their burger buns.

Could you get some ice cream cones and do that with different icecreams if the weather is nice? Get some stuff they can decorate them with like sprinkles and sauce.

Maybe make or buy a stack of cupcakes (or muffins) rather than one big cake and put them on a tiered cake stand if you have one or could borrow one, can look more arty than a cake and, depending on how safe and easy to light and carry, could look amazing with candles in each.
Burgers & hotdogs! Real tasty un pc stuff !! Why not!
Mini pizzas, buy some ready to roll puff pastry, roll out thinly and using a biscuit cutter - cut out several rounds of pastry and cover with various toppings, tomato, cheese, ham, tuna, thinly sliced hot dog sausages etc and just bake in the over until done - only takes a few mins to do.

The venue gas no cooking facilities or I would do hot dogs, different, easy & cheap. I don't mind doing the usual stuff but gave enough time on my hands to do something different.
Mini fluffy American-style pancakes with 1/2 a strawberry dipped in Nutella.

Fruit kebabs arranged to look like a rainbow

Layered Jellies

Sandwiches cut out with cookie cutters

Fairy Bread (for a girlie party)

I did jelly last year and no one ate it, I don't think kids round here know what jelly is :(
Personally I hate the stuff, but my nephew adores it....weirdo! lol xx
Ready made pancakes (6 for a quid at mo), far easier than making your own, just nuke in microwave and let the kids go nuts with icecream, 'nanas, chocolate pieces, cut up strawberries, sprinkles etc.
Don't forget the marshmallows and Nutella! x
