cold sores

is there something herbal that you can take to stop cold sores appearing or occuring less often, my 3 year old gets them on his cheek ,and has had 4 in 2 years?

Try Tea Tree Oil as opposed to Zovirax, it smells quite strong but usually helps if you apply as soon as itching starts.

Definitely agree, I get them a lot and find that Zovirax does nothing but Tea Tree Oil (applied neat with a cotton bud) dries them out almost instantly and they do clear up a lot quicker.

Failing that, look out for a new laser pen that's going to be on the market later this year that apparently zaps them away within a day!

you could try echinacea to up his immune system and try childrens multivitamins.

they are very contagious and are spread by contact - hands, lips, towels, cups, doorhandles, pens etc etc so keep separate stuff for when someone has one
