What Bad Luck

Living room and everything else is finished, and looks awesome. However, we wake up this morning to a drip in the ceiling, bang in middle of living room!!! i could have cried, it seems its not massive, but still enough to make me disheartened as living room is now new, and if ceiling comes down, which i hope will not, then that would mean all the hard work we have put in has gone to waste.

We had a tap installed on Wednesday, and we seen the leak in the pipe. Plumber has stopped it, but still dripping water out of ceiling. Is this because the water accumulated over time, and the water should drip away without causing further damage? Oh i do hope it doesn't get worse, we have checked for any further leaks, and none were found, so the tap is the only cause.

Eve, plumber has repaired leak, and said to just let it drip out for now, as no other leak, so hopeful that it will drip away dry soon. x

Poor you, as if you don't have enough on your plate right now. I'd try to get the Builders attention (no offence to anyone else) but I'd be a bit concerned if the drip has got worse today even though the leak has been stopped.

As others have said put a small hole in the ceiling (around 1/2") where it is dripping to allow water to drain faster - almost anything will do to make hole if a drill is not handy e.g. screw driver old knife etc

A five year old plasterboard ceiling won't come down Phleb. Don't worry.

As several others have said .......... poke a small hole with a screwdriver. That's what I do . :o)

Thanks Builder, and everyone, leak stopped and ceiling is intact, just needs painting and stain block. I am relieved. xx
