Thank God someone asked this, as I thought The Shield must have been the end of the series. None of the terrestrial channels know what to do with superior US dramas. I don't think they know a good one when they see it. There was a time when The Shield would have been meat to Channel Four. Now they buy routine "Dragnet" retreads like Without A Trace, put them on at prime time, and show The Sopranos later, almost in the middle of the night? And who was the nit who bought The Lyon's Den? I think Nip/Tuck is tack as well: it speeds the plot along as though we are all about to switch over any moment. In one episode they even stole a "sharpei" joke about uncircumcised penises from Sex in the City. And I've missed so many episodes of Six Feet Under now because they've been on so late, I'm close to giving up on it. One day, all we viewers will simply buy a series like The Shield for ourselves and put it on our own subscription channel. One day we'll scroo them!
