laptop freezing
my sons laptop (which was not a very expensive one but is now just out of warranty), keeps freezing on a regular (random)basis. we have tried putting it on little supports (as one AB member suggested ) so that it is vented, it has been wiped clean and everything reinstalled, but it doesnt solve the problem.
also, when he is on the internet (using a wireless sender) it often has periods of loss of signal (every few seconds sometimes) - this happens on another laptop in the house too though. anyone know why, and how these things can be sorted ???

just because a product has just come out of the warranty period does not stop you claiming on it. The legal aspect of this has more to do with the price of the product and the expectations you had for the product bearing in mind the cost. This has been tested in the courts, so go for it and make the chuffer's sort it out for free...........good luck!
to try and remedy the freezing.
go to the "start" button at the bottom left of your screen.
then click on "all programs"
then go to "accessories" then link to the "system tools"
in system tools, go to "system restore"
from here you can re-set youy computer to a previous date. if you can remember when the problem began, take it back to the "restore point" prior to that date.
it may or nay not cure the problem, but it is the easy option...
have used that method myself to cure simple problems.
