where should i be putting files when using dvdshrink options are hard drive folder sony dvr with iso file or create iso image

You can set up a folder anywhere - my choice is in the 'My Videos' section of 'My Documents'.

Then when you're prompted for the destination folder, just guide the pc to that folder.
