Mic and I have been married over 34 years. When either of us used the bathroom we never commented on what we did whilst in there. To us it was go in close the door and come out when you have finished doing what you went in to do in the first place.
Since Mic has been home he is having toilet trouble. Today I was asked before he had his stroke did he have trouble urinating. I said don't know.
What do you mean you don't know. My answer, we never discussed such matters. He said after 34 years you never spoke of these things. No said I.
Please tell me it's not just us.

Jeza i think that Mic's attitude, and yours is normal. Was the doc younger? Maybe its a generational thing?
How very quaint. Me n mrs Z have no secrets. Quite the reverse
Me neither, zacs, I have read these answers with amazement.

The only rule we have (unless we have visitors) is that the only time you shut the bathroom door is if you need a poo. We don't discuss the outcomes in pictorial detail, but we do say if things don't seem quite right. It's all part of daily life - you'd say (surely) if you had indigestion or back pain - why not talk about something as vital as the digestive tract's activity?
Zacs - if you and Mrs Z have no secrets quite the reverse, doesn't that mean you have a lot of secrets?
.......and pedant of the day award goes to........
There are some people that won't even wee in front of their partners. We don't even have a lock on our bathroom door.
Just doing anything rather with getting on with hoovering Zacs.
Ah, right. Do you Hoover in front of your other half?
What an amazing thread........does one really have to discuss one's partners ablutions to know what goes on in the bathroom?

Guess....go on have a guess.

OK, if there is an abnormality...passing blood or pain then this is mentioned but otherwise....no, we don't discuss it.
Not if I can help it. He is too judgmental "you missed a bit there" type
We don't discuss it. The males often announce what they are going to the bathroom for. I really would rather not know...
Sorry Jeza. Me and Zacs are the subplot in this movie.
As you know, I work in a hospital, and some people don't tell their spouses anything, even when there is a problem, as talking about it would make it real. We have had more than one lady with a fungating breast tumour who has kept it covered up from her husband, and by the time everything has gone totally wrong, it's been too late to offer curative treatment.
Very, very sad.
My visits to the bathroom are my special place and i can be alone.
Mr Puss would discuss if he thought there was a problem --I think?
He knows me . Get to the doctors and get it sorted as i did when I had my first bladder tumours.
All the best to you and Mic jeza.
Mr puss's father kept his water retention to himself and his kidneys packed up.
He suffered in silence for quite a while, till he was carted off to hospital.
why/when would anyone feel the need to announce when they are going to the toilet, do they think they may get lost and require rescuing ? :),
We're the same as boxy, zacs and ummmm. I'm quite/very surprised at most of the answers here.
We quite happily wee in front of each other, in fact we've had weeing competitions on Hadrians Wall when I had to use my shewee.
Peeing in front of each other is not a problem for us.
He is used to me squatting behind the bushes when their is no toilet while walking through the woods or countryside.
It's just you. We also talk about it. You can see, after getting old you can simply have some problems over those things. It's better to know your habits and recognize some problems quicker than being shy about toilet things and have no idea your parnter might have some problems.
