My niece left her husband to live with her boss taking her two children with her six years ago. He bought the house which is in his name and all the bills have been paid by him, all of which are in his name. They have now split up.
She said she can stay in the house until her children are 18 and he will have to support them. Is this true?
I hate to say this, but he could say that she was a live-in housekeeper, and in lieu of rent,/wages, he let her live there rent free and provide for the children.
I assume they are not married. In that case, she will have a very difficult job getting anything - let alone being allowed to stay there throughout the childrens' teenage years.
I'm confused with the Hes - the boss and the niece have now split up? In which case no, they are not his children (unless he adopted them) - it's their birth father's responsibility to maintain them until they are 18.
