Some years ago I bought a Vodaphone internet dongle. This allows me to use the internet whilst away from home without having to pay rip-off rates as charged by camp-sites etc. The deal was that, like a mobile phone, credit never expires, so long as you use some every six months. This was the main reason for going with Vodaphone - most suppliers sell dongle usage which expires after a fixed period. Suddenly, with no warning, I try to use the dongle and am told I need to buy a data pack. Apparently now, in order to get at my credit, I have to pay £5 and that will allow me to access it for 30 days. In other words, it now costs me about as much for 30 days' access to my credit as it did for a year's usage - this is NOT 30 days' usage remember, this is 30 days' access to my credit; I still have to pay for usage on top of that. This strikes me as being dishonest. Any comments?

Been there, done that and Vodaphone weren't interested. Will never deal with Vodaphone again, had other issues with my phone as well, they were not interested.
They do not seem to take customer service seriously. I say that from recent experience of their inability to make contact or their failure to avoid prevaricating. Presumably hoping we'd go away with our complaint.
