Russian Film- The Return

I fell asleep watching this last night. Would someone be kind enough to let me know how it ended and did the boys accept their 'father'?
I remember the father giving the eldest boy his watch before the boys went fishing in the boat.

really good film but wasnt quite sure what it meant in the ending. forgot to say that the boat sank with the father in it.
one of the last shots you see was off a man with his arms outstretched in the lake.
also it was strange that the actor who played the elder boy died in a water accident a year after the film was made in st. petersburg. hope this helps you. :-)
