I can guess the significance of the N word.........but despite reading the newspaper and asking various people......I cannot find the meaning of the G-word.

I know it is politically incorrect......because everyone is saying so.............help!

/// @anotheroldgit That thread never really went anywhere. ///

Why do you say that? it attracted 68 answers on a Bank Holiday weekend.

Please tell me what the difference was?
this girl was a trained warrior, a judo champion so it is hardly surprising that she bested her opponent, she would probably beat a lot of men.

Describing her a girl does not get across they fact that she was a martial arts expert.

/// I did follow the other thread but chose to not (boldly) post. ///

That surprises me very little seeing that you never boldly or otherwise post in my threads for some reason.
The Dambusters was on yesterday.
They haven't bleeped out the name of Guy Gibson's black labrador - yet.

No the dogs name is back in - it was bleeped out and then put back in following an exhaustive discussion on how the meaning of words vary with time.

It was around about the time - in poirot the Yard detective says:
and now "we must cherchez la shantoozie". and my mother pointed out in the thirties a lead singer in a band if she was [der daaa] "a girl" was called a chanteuse - and they really d id say shantoozie.

chanteuse has not survived as time goes on and the N word has.

and did les gurlz object to being called shantoozies? o god I dont know.....

Sqad and Mrs Sqad I think you should have another go at Linguistics.

///PP...thanks for that explanation.

Didn't understand one word of it....;-) ///

lol, lol, lol, I love it.

// this girl was a trained warrior, //

the obvious word then is Amazon.....

but I am not certain the lady in question would like that.

Are the youngsters in this thread teasing us olds, when they say 'Lady' is informal ?
