Bamboo Shoots Being Eaten
12 Answers
I have a large bamboo about 2 years old. It has produced 7 new shoots about 3 feet high, 2 of the shoots have been eaten through and have fallen off about 6 inches from the ground. inside one was 2 slugs and an earwig. Are they the problem. Any advice would be appreciated. thank you.

There are pictures showing pencil size holes on the stem which dies and drops off. They suggest maybe slugs or earwigs which were both present inside the cane. The tender top shoot was untouched. I think these are the culprits. I hope the link opens up, not computer literate!
