I know it's going to be hard to get a mortgage.. And just wished they looked into the fact they we have paid rent without a break for the last 15 years (which is higher then anybody else I knows mortgage!) we are very frugal with our money, but we are both on pretty low incomes.. So we pay a huge amount in rent, we have saved the deposit ourselves and we have (or had!) an outstanding credit report... But we are still struggling to borrow enough to buy (in the south) and each time we think were nearly there the government comes out with a new deal that helps people on high incomes, low deposit.. And bang.. House prices go up again!
