Malwarebytes

I've got myself into a muddle with malwarebytes. Was intending to run the usual quick scan on the free version I've had installed for ages, but somehow (think I was typing too quickly) I seem to have agreed to install the full version (though I haven't been asked for any money yet) - at least, the screen showed items I've never seen before and it informed me that a scan had never been run on my computer, which is nonsense. I got in a panic and clicked on 'stop free trial' and then had a couple of red crosses on the install screen. The original desktop icon was removed and replaced during the installation.
So where am I? Can I get back to the free version, which was absolutely fine? I'm running Windows 7.

Malwarebytes is showing in my New Programmes, but when I click on it (to find out whether it's the free or paid version) I get the usual 'do you want to allow malwarebytes to make changes to this computer?' I definitely don't want the paid version, so should I uninstall the whole lot and start again?
You could but I don't see why you should want to. you have a trial, why not trial it and return to the free version when the trial ends ?
A scan probably hasn't been run by the paid for version. If you can cot click and restart the trial again then, for sure, you should be able to uninstall and start again.

Malwarebytes has been up-dated and there is a new look to its pages. Also what was listed as 'Quick Scan' has now become 'Threat Scan'.
I think you were getting back the Free version which does have a few 'red crosses' to draw your attention to the Premium edition. The message about a Scan Not having been run on your computer was in effect telling you that a Scan had Not been done with the up-dated version.
Have another shot at downloading the Free version from the Official Site and let us know how things turn out. :-

Thank you HansUrbancka. Yes, i realised once I started downloading it again that the lay-out must have changed since I last did a quick scan a couple of weeks ago. This one doesn't seem to offer the choice of 'quick' or 'full' - at least, I gave up on it once it had been going for over an hour and let it finish itself while I was asleep so don't know exactly how long it took. It has installed correctly as far as I can tell. I have an email asking me to confirm that I wish to receive regular news fro malwarebytes; i assume this is another new addition but can't see any reason not to?
