Terrible prize, was so disgusted I never bothered to cash it in...that's why I only do the S.Express crosswords: money. The M.O.S. prizes are rubbish - a dictionary and a pen: who doesn't already have those!!??
My Mother won You mag a couple of years ago - was really chuffed.
I won a bottle of champagne, two packs of smoked salmon, belgian chocolates and tub of caviar about eight years ago. Ate the chocs and salmon, the dogs had the caviar (later found out worth about 70) and the champagne is still in the bottom of the fridge. Still don't know which comp I won it in as there was no letter with the prize!
On the 24th April, this year, I won the Mentathlon prize in the Daily Express, consisting of a goody bag of Turtle Wax products, worth 80.00. Lo and behold, but just two weeks later, I won the Mentathlon prize AGAIN. This time it was a copy of "Mr Site's Takeaway Website Pro", which enables you to set up a business web site. That's worth 99.99. Not bad for two phone calls, is it ? I have a couple of philosophies which I believe are quite true in life, namely, "If you don't enter, you don't win" and "If you don't ask, you don't get."
