has anyone got any home rememdies for cleaning tarmac to get rid of the green residue, moss and lichen prior to painting the tarmac with a proprietary product?

Diluted bleach and a stiff brush. Hose down after with clean water and let dry.

Hire a pressure washer, 10 times more effective than a stiff brush.

If the tarmac is going to be painted then the lichens and mosses need be removed as well as killed, hence the pressure washer suggestion.
