Homeless Bee?

I don't know if is as strange as it appears to me, but I have a very big bee that has moved into my shed recently! I say recently because I noticed it 6 days ago but it may have been there longer.
It's a brick shed with a small gap under it's wooden door and on getting some gardening stuff out, I heard a buzzing and being a coward I got what I wanted and locked up again. The next evening I ducked as it passed me and I saw it go under the door and back into the shed!
I've got some new plants I water each evening and every time over the last few days I've heard it's buzz, turned round and there it is heading off to bed under the door. Seems weird to me so please tell me if this is a normal ocurrence. thank you.

Be careful it's not building a hive. Don't hurt it, it is helping to keep us alive, but maybe gently shoo it out.

Bees need to drink so if there isn't a ready water source around then it is likely that they are coming out for a drink.

It is probable that you have a bumblebee nest which is a privilege and will naturally die later in the year.

Unless they are causing you real concern please leave them be, they will do you no harm if you are mindful of them.

we have 4 bumble bee nests they have taken over the tits nesting box beside the bedroom window , another lot going under the facia board above the patio doors and 2 more in holes in the garden its lovely

As a kid, I was terrified by these big bumble bees.
I used to ride along a canal towpath on my bike, where there was lots of wildflowers to attract em and a couple of times I nearly ended up in the drink!, which was also scary cos I was afraid of swans and pike too.

As the years rolled by, I began to realize that, if I left them alone, then the'l do me no harm.

If its a big bee then maybe its a new queen looking to start her own hive?

I do always leave water out but sugar water wouldnt last long with my dog. Will see if i can find somewhere out of his reach but if not they'll have to make do with the same as the dog.
