At the time the major drive for claims was launched, I didn't have much spare time - so we used a claims agency and paid them to do it for us, with success. Now, I'm planning to do it myself for the remaining claims we still haven't actioned yet.
I have no reason to claim as I have never been charged PPI but if I had then I would do it myself - my daughter has done it very easily before.

We've had a letter from CPP saying they are initiating a refund process - but we haven't heard anything yet. Should we chase them up?

Hi Boxy, it's very very easy to do the home work yourself, just check back on your out going statement for whatever you have had to pay, just look if there is a ppi or similar of the paper work.

If someone was foolish enough to pay PPI when they didn't need it (or couldn't use it), I see no reason why they should get it back. I strongly object to PPI providers being forced to repay money and there's absolutely no way that I would even consider making a claim for a refund.
We had a couple of letters about PPI's saying that we could claim for missold insurance. We had no idea which company sold us a PPI and at first I ignored the letter. Then we got a form to fill in. If it hadn't been for someone on here saying that they had got a nice sum back I wouldn't have bothered. We were paid out at the beginning of the year. Not a lot but enough for a nice shopping spree and a meal out.

Methyl, if you still have your statements, you can still get your money back, I can assure you.
methyl, we didn't even know which company had sold us the ppi it was a credit card protection. CCP just send us a form and I filled it in saying that I couldnt recall the name of the company responsible for the missold PPI. No problem, they must have known who it was, and sent us the money owed, we never did find out who it was. The account and the cards had been cancelled anyway.
