Well AOG perhaps this may well be of historical origin, in that many Politicians and "allied groups" do not feel that "abusing " children is a big deal.

Perhaps these are mentioned because these three professions have direct access to children and are in a position of trust. Other professions, including politicians aren't in this access and trust position and aren't listed separately

It doesn't say there aren't any politicians, but doctors, police officers and teachers is a bit more of a story than councillors perhaps, many of whom probably have other jobs anyway.
Of course I suspect what you really mean is "there's been a cover-up and MPs and ministers are being protected", but statistically it would be rather unlikely for there to be too many MPs and ministers out of a count of 660. There are only 650 MPs to begin with, for example
