My post is of course very t-i-c, however these chaps are a tad lucky!

10/10 for effort, 0/10 for local highway knowledge.

Probably safer on that road than in town.

I find cycling terrifying. I am a tad top-heavy and am always convinced that I am going to fly over the handlebars.
I've been over the handlebars - it wasn't much fun!

I broke my collar-bone and had loads of stitches, but the most painful bit was breaking my thumb - ouch!
I would skin my nose but my boobs would save me from further damage.

I am not confident without traffic - traffic just makes it much worse.
It may seem daft, but motorway slip roads, for some reason, do not give an indication of which vehicles are prohibited. So you can't really blame them for finding a a nice straight road to practice on.

You would assume the Games' organisers would tell them of places to practice locally. And supply them with a copy of the highway code.

Excellent. Who was the team who went down the M1 before the 2012 Olympics?

Apparently the road surface is really good on some of our motorways.
If we let cyclists onto the Motorways, could we do away with most of the HGVs ?

Nibble told me about this last night, he went past them on the M74......

I'm yet to reason why anyone would risk riding this:

Surely, the slightest mishap will guarantee a broken leg at the very least, if not death?
I think 'conservation of momentum' means it's pretty stable once moving forward - but starting and (in particular) stopping must be a bit fraught.
Bet he doesn't bank around any corners.
