Hi All
I have a tower pc with a AM2 N68-s motherboard which is running XP unbearably slow can anybody tell me the fastest processor that I can fit to this to speed it up, I have done all the usual things like removing programmes and have added more ram, I do not use the pc for gaming just general use but can take up to 30 mins to open up for use.
Thanks

I would say if it is taking that long to start up you have a fault somewhere, either in the hardware or software.
And putting in a new CPU wont fix it.
The "best" solution is to do a complete reinstall of Windows.
Or buy a new computer.
