So raisins are dried grapes right? What are currants? Are they dried blackcurrants? And what about sultanas?

Is it something to do with the colour of the grapes, you know, red - raisins, black - currants or white - sultanas. Not sure but I think I read that somewhere but there again, I could have just dreamt it! :-)

I've just found this explanation on a website:

Currants, raisins and sultanas are all dried grapes (vine fruits). Raisins and sultanas are derived from varieties of white grape whereas currants are derived from a variety of purple-black grape. Currants are dried, small purple-black coloured, seedless grapes (the 'Corinth' grape), mainly from Australia, Greece, and the United States.
