I used to quite like Emmerdale Farm when it was more about the farm, the Woolpack and Annie Sugden's kitchen. (Showing my age). Same with Corrie, but with Hilda Ogden's "murial", the snug in the Rovers, Bet Lynch's bad dresses etc.
I feel the same, the storylines are getting more and more ridiculous. This with Charity is driving me crazy. Really don't know why I watch it but I do.
The storylines in TV soaps I watch are as far away from reality as you can get. How many people have their meals at the local pub or cafe for example? How many forthcoming weddings are delayed because the bride and groom are having second thoughts? How many people seem to be able to get a job at the drop of a hat within their local community? All soap characters seem to get a private room when in hospital and more amazingly you never hear anyone talking about benefits.
The problem with soaps is that they are on too often. When they were only on twice a week they were fine, but because they have more time to fill, the stories are getting ridiculous.
