Everything apart from from the vacation responder has disappeared from the settings button content on the toolbar, and the toolbar content itself has vanished. How do I restore them?

I think if someone is going to try and help you, it will be necessary for you to give an indication of the item which you are using. Is it a Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Smart Phone, or whatever and the Operating System involved.

As much information as possible, Please.

Thanks Hans, the problem is specific to gmail not the device
