gambia is relatively cheap these days but then as long as you're prepared to spend a bit of time looking and you're not too fussy about where you stay then the world really is yours to explore......for example a friend of mine who has never had any career to speak of and has worked in jobs varying from bar work, to theatre usher, to farmhand...(all pretty low paid jobs) has in the last few years been to some amazing places. His favourites have been Costa Rica, Belize and Mexico. He's just been really unfussy when choosing airlines, sometimes he's had to change aircraft 2 or 3 times as it worked out much cheaper than flying direct but he's always managed and his stories are far more interesting than the ones we all manage to tell over a few drinks!
