I did B00, it was indeed marvellous, I loved every minute of it. I was a tad worried at one point when he was walking alone at night, worried he would be attacked, but a super film. And a lovely chap!
It was more than marvellous .It was absolutely brilliant .Such a lovely happy man in spite of his difficulties .
Superb acting by Toby Jones and Gemma Jones as his mother .
Isn't he just .Just goes to show what people can achieve in spite of learning difficulties .He's brought a lot of love and laughter into peoples lives and the fact that he's been friends with Malcom Clarke for fifty years is amazing Malcolm struck me as a lovely man too .
I Googled him afterwards as id not heard of him prior to the film. The film itself really gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, something we don't often feel watching telly these days (crikey, I sound old!!)
I had to laugh at the end when he got the bishop to take him shopping .
It gave me an ear worm.."Enjoy yourself ,it's later than you think "
I was humming it all the next day ..haha.
Very true though!
Just caught this on BBC iPlayer and i must concur with most of what has been said. Brilliantly funny and poignant in equal measure and what a good idea to include the actual subjects in this brilliant production
