It will always be painfull for the relatives whether it's now or in 20 years time,i agree studios will cash in on anything.. The film is been shown to the familes of the people on the plane before release and the majority of the familes supported the film from the start as it show how brave they were in such a terrible situation...
The Americans (having never suffered any real great losses in international wars or having never been invaded) have blown 9/11 out of all proportion.
It was obviously horrific but we all know the Americans are prone to over reaction and melodrama.
Confronting difficult situations is part of the healing process and us Brits were making war films whilst the Second World War was still going on for crying out loud!
Art, in whatever form, should reflect the era and events of the time it is being produced in. If just one person thinks it is the right time for a film then that is good enough.
What i would say to those who say it is 'too early' - get over it and move on.

People have been making films about 9/11.....but they ask too many questions about exactly what went on and who knew what.....
It's far too soon. It's something I'll never forget. I remember exactly where I was stood when I found out and I don't need reminding of it thank you very much. I feel for those who lost loved ones on 9/11. I just can't help feeling that it's really not necessary to make it into a film. Not what I'd call entertainment.
gary baldy - I can't agree that Americans are blowing 9/11 out of proportion. Yes, you can cite bigger tragedies such as the second world war/holocaust - but that isn't the point. The thing that makes 9/11 so raw is the fact that so many innocent people were murdered by a group of fanaticists (sp?) who STILL think they were justified in their actions - it brought home to people who live in civilised nations that they are vunerable and could meet the same fate one day on their way to work. I'm not an emotional person but the thought of 9/11 and the stinking scum that did this makes me sick. With regards to the film - films were being produced during the second world war as part of a propaganda effort - it was all jolly hockey sticks and such - what they didn't do was produce films describing with such details, specific events in which thousands of civilians were murdered.
