Commercial vehicles have a height indicator fitted, the problem here seems to be the trailer is higher then the tractor unit. Perhaps the driver didn't notice the difference between the two until the trailer hit the bridge, we're all wise after the event.

Hope the driver has got a foot pump ( preferably an Halfords one ! ), he'll need it c'os the fire brigade would most likely let the lorry's tyres down to free it.
Wonder what the bosses of the driver responsible for this will be giving him?

Some welding equipment and a socket set I think, Halfords sell them !.
He was using the new "Slav-nav" - all routes to be taken at ALL times - road signs are to be ignored at ALL times. :)
Do Halfords sell these all new Slav Nav's, Nibble ;-)
LOL.
Driver error, he / she would have taken 5 mins to stop before the bridge to check the height, I notice that is a railway Bridge, that will have cost the Haulier a lot of money, as the bridge has to be fully checked for damage, if trains have to divert it could cost a lot of money.
