Any Ideas ? Please Read

I am looking for B & B / hotels in a number of locations in the UK and find that many stipulate 'photo ID' for registration purposes. I do not drive so have no driving license photo ID and I have no passport-my employment necessitates the wearing of a photo badge but other than this I am at a loss to how I would provide this requirement for photo ID-any ideas how I might get photo ID?

We weren't told about it before we arrived and had nothing with us, but my OH managed to convince the receptionist that we were the people who booked the room and that it was ridiculous to expect us to provide it.
Citizen Cards are mainly used by people who need to prove their age, rather than their identity, but they can also be useful to others:

Some accommodation providers only accept a passport (and not even a driving licence) as evidence of ID from customers who simply turn up without pre-booking. (e.g. easyHotels have that policy). However you can get round that by booking on the website of the relevant hotel company (or through an accommodation broker, such as Booking.com) prior to arrival.

Mrssp....I have heard of this happening....during the Olympics....when the hotel was in what they consider...the area of a high profile event....
I suppose for security?
On my last couple of hospital appointments I had to show photo ID to prove I was the person who had booked the appointment and not someone getting free treatment to which I wasn't entitled......I could see a flaw but they were happy....☺
