Malware Scan

Have just completed a scan using the free version of Malwarebytes. I was out when it finished, so there was a gap of an hour before I saw the results. As on the last occasion, it told me that there's one potential problem detected, but I can't see a way to get rid of it as there is nothing listed and no obvious 'actions to take' option. Has it got rid of the infected file in the intervening period? If not, how do I do so?

thanks, SlackAlice. Does ticking everything = deep scan?

Like Tearinghair, I'm just bemused that they've changed stuff a lot and not mentioned it (though as a free programme they're under no obligation to do so, of course)
//Does ticking everything = deep scan?///
As far as I can see............ Yes.

They changed the 'paid for' program to keep it up to date and cover more options. For free users they just 'disabled' parts of it.

OK, so it's a program not a website. I sit corrected.

Thank you, I've now deleted everything in History, though I can't see anything more recent than June. Tried running a threat scan again, but it appeared to be on course for another two hours so I cancelled it and will make sure, next time I do it, to be hovering with mouse in hand as it finishes.
You could try running malwarebytes in safe mode. Update malwarebytes then re-start your pc into safe mode and then start malwarebytes/scan.

It should run the scan much quicker because Windows in 'safe mode' will only load up the minimal resources, leaving much more available for the scan.

Safe mode makes me nervous, SlackAlice. I can cope with most everyday stuff on my desktop, but although I know in theory how to start in safe mode I did get it horribly wrong once and wouldn't like to go through that again. But thank you for the suggestion.
if i were you i would uninstall this prog and reinstall from malwares web site (the free version i find this rectify's any free progs on the blink'
i do get a page up saying nothing found
that's what I would have expected, Ivor. It seems an odd omission.

I also notice that if you minimise the progress screen, it doesn't minimise, it just vanishes. You have to click the desktop icon again to recover it. This all seems rather counter-intuitive.
reinstall.let us know how it goes,
The quickest scan is done using the large Scan Now button at the bottom of the dashboard.

I've been using Malwarebytes 2 since it was released and it just seems so slow compared to v1. Doing a scan on an individual file (using the file's context menu option) after I've downloaded it takes noticeably longer than it did with the previous version and once it has finished the scan then it freezes for about 10 seconds before it allows you to exit.

The computer isn't as risk while I'm reinstalling?
No.
