Birmingham has fantastic shopping, from street-market to posh department stores, concert halls, theatres, cinemas, museums, and railway stations from which you could take short trips to places like ( say) Malvern. It must have accommodation for all depths of pocket.

Live in liverpool so quite central really, not particularly energetic :-( good food pubs, museums.....

I know this may seem a daft question, but have you seen everything Liverpool has to offer? We don't always bother with what's on our own doorsteps. OH and I love Liverpool.

Oxford is a lovely city. Whitby is very sweet. Stratford upon Avon always wrth a visit.

Yes, agree with ummmm, Warwick is great, although the cost of getting into the castle has risen a lot. I believe it's £16 now.

Yeah....it's about that but you can make a whole day of it and come and go as you please.
