Feeling Old Again This Morning!

There was a thread last week about how the younger ones of today don't know the names of the groups/bands etc that us older ones grew up with, and I said this makes me feel very old when that happens. This morning listening to the 9o'clock news on the radio, the obviously young girl was reporting on the death of Acker Bilk who she pronounced as Acre Bilk!!! Oh dear.

I find it strange when people say "never heard of him/her" or "before my time".. Henry V111, The Battle of Hastings, The Crimean War etc were all before my time but I've still heard of them.

AH, the songs are from the Republican Army, the IRA, who used to think (most likely still do) that English/UK Military Personnel made quite good targets. Look at the Poppy based Avatars that are being displayed at the moment, think about the time of year, and what it signifies, (if I remember rightly you don't agree with it, that's up to you)
I never served there myself but I lost friends there, and was in Deal when it was bombed in '89, and object to Jordy publicising the IRA, especially at this time.
