Don't know JJ . Why don't you ask the parents? If they didn't bake it, perhaps they can give you the name of the bakery.
I know what you mean, so many cakes are like dry old lead, it's a treat to find a really yummy one.

If it had a rich buttery taste I doubt oil was used. Oil can be used for a 'moist' cake, but it loses that rich taste. Might it have been an angel cake consistency with buttercream? http://www.anchordairy.co.uk/recipes/angel-cake
Have just found that the said baker sells her wares in the local market in Belfast on a Sunday. A bad day for me to shop but I do know a lady who goes every Sunday and when I get more info re the baker will get this friend to get me a wee cake.
