17 across put spin on inequality and take trouble ?URR. The second R is from 19 down Followed up service with Lieutenant in old squadron ??SU?T?D - Resulted is the only word I can get here. Would also like confirmed I am right with 13 across - clued up about what rounds of cream tea HE(M)P and 9 down Sound of lights out pierces TAPS If any one can assist it will be most appreciated
Hep is clued up (as in old style jazz lingo) around the last letter of cream =HEMP, which is a type of tea. Taps is the bugle call played at 'lights out.' Not sure what 24 across is if the ending is U.
